Hawaii day six

We drove to Hana today. We started at 9:00 A.M, and drove to Hana. We first past small towns, then we entered the forest. The road was very narrow and had a lot of zig zags, it could barely fit two cars. Looking out, it was very beautiful the ocean view was amazing. There were waterfalls everywhere, and there are 70 bridges going to Hana. We stopped at a hiking trail, and we hiked there. The trail was covered in roots from the trees. We also looked at the plants growing there. Then we went back into driving. We drove all the way to the seven pools. The seven pools are fresh water pools that are about to go into the ocean. We swam in the pools. It was freezing cold but refreshing. After my nap it really woke me up. There were rocks on the bottom, and the water was freezing cold. It was awesome. After that, it was 7:00 p.m so we just went back to our hotel.

Hawaii day five

I went to the Villas to snorkel. I first, went to the rock. We went looking for sea turtles. Instead, we found lots of fish. When I popped my head up from the water, I saw a mother crab and a baby one too; they were climbing up a rock. After that we went to the middle, where it is very shallow. There were much more colorful fish. In fact, there were more fish near the shore, than out in the deep.

After that I went to the Honolua Bay, to snorkel. There weren’t any waves. Instead of sand there are rocks. There were many colorful fish in caves, and under rocks; it was cool.

Hawaii day four

I woke up and we went to Blackrock in the morning. We went to look for turtles. We didn’t find any, but we saw lots of colorful fish swimming in the coral. I dove after some of the fish that I was interested in. I got a REALLY close up look at the Hawaiian state fish. It was really cool.

We went to a Luau to eat dinner and watch a show. We first ate; there were lots of different kinds of foods; chicken, pork, corn and many more. After that we watched the show. The first part was all just people dancing the hula. The second part was about history. They danced like the early Hawaiians did, in the past. The last part is my favorite; the fire dance. They took fire knives. Which were like sticks with fire on both ends, the performers twirled it around, threw it in the air then caught it again; they also ate the fire. It was amazing how they did it.

Hawaii day three

Today I went to the Molokini Bay. It used to be a big crater. We woke up at 6:00 in the morning. Then drove to a dock and hopped on a boat. Then we sailed to Molokini Bay.

I hopped off the ship in my snorkeling gear and went into the water. The water was freezing cold. There were lots and lots of awesome fish. The water was so clear it was like a pool. I could see the very bottom I looked in the shallow end and there were more fish; under the rocks there were lots of baby fish. It was amazing.

Hawaii day two

We first went to the Napilli Bay, to snorkel. I went into the waves; it was so cold I couldn’t breathe. There were a lot of fish, but most of them camouflage with the bottom. Half of the fish were Black ourgeons; a couple of green or blue fish here and there. Even though I wasn’t thrilled by Napilli Bay it was a pretty good start.

After Napilli Bay, I went snorkeling in a place called Blackrock, located right next to our hotel. Once I got in I noticed that the water was very clear. The fish were more colorful than Napilli Bay. I saw tons of awesome fish, yellow tang, trumpet fish, and a four spotted butterfly fish; and so many more I can’t even name.

Hawaii day one

I arrived at the hotel and I was half awake. I went in, and saw that the hotel was awesome; there was a huge waterfall, and the pool has two slides and two connected pools with a huge tunnel, with water falling down. So if you are swimming through the tunnel, you are swimming through a tunnel full of waterfalls. There is a big slide and a small slide that you can slide through too. After we went exploring, we went to our hotel room.

ISL Championships

My ISL Champs this year was awesome. I had four events; the 200 medley relay, 50 butterfly, 50 backstroke, and 100 IM.

My first event was the 200 medley relay. I swam butterfly. My split time was a 35.5 I dropped a second! We won our heat but placed fourth overall.

My second event was the 50 butterfly. I swam a 36.75 an okay time, in 5th place. I was pretty late off the blocks, so I could improve on that. Hunter Hitchens finished 1st with a 30.95. That’s faster than my 50 free time.

Next I had the 50 backstroke. I swam a 36.86 and dropped 2 seconds, finishing fourth place; a very good time. Hunter Hitchens finished first with a 33.35

My last event was the 100 IM. I went a 1:21.44. Not the best time, but I’ll take it. Aidan Yong finished 1st with a 1:09.8 faster than my 100 freestyle time, a 1:10.71.
